Custom WordPress websites: our strategic approach

Custom WordPress websites: our strategic approach

WordPress is the most widely used open‑source platform worldwide.

Its strength lies in allowing users to manage and update every piece of content with ease and intuitiveness.

Our agency has chosen to adopt it as the foundation for website development, transforming it into a fully tailored ecosystem designed to meet each client’s specific needs in detail.

Design and brand identity

Our design team creates modern, responsive layouts enriched with engaging interactions. Every project begins with an in‑depth analysis of the client’s brand identity: the final result can be institutional and formal, or creative and dynamic—always consistent with the company’s image.

The design process is collaborative: the client reviews and approves the layouts through multiple steps until the final version is achieved. Once approved, the layouts are handed over to our development team for the creation of the custom theme.

Custom backend

The backend is the operational heart of the website, designed to be simple and intuitive. We configure it with the company’s branding and structure the sections according to the content that needs to be published.

We primarily work on the following WordPress components:

  • Post Type: content types such as news, products, portfolios, and more;
  • Tassonomie: categories, tags, and relationships between content.

Depending on the complexity of the project, we set up dedicated fields for text, images, and videos, or we develop custom reusable blocks that can be used across multiple pages. A concrete example: for SAES Getters, an industrial chemical company, we built a multisite, multilingual ecosystem featuring around one hundred custom blocks, all manageable and replicable across the group’s 10+ websites.

For multilingual management, we integrate WPML, the best and most consistently updated premium plugin available. We also implement security and monitoring systems to protect the website from attacks and ensure continuous, reliable operation.

Frontend and user experience

The frontend is what users see and interact with. We develop it following a mobile‑first approach, since most visits today come from smartphones and tablets.

Beyond design, we enhance the experience with animated interactions and, upon request, dynamic scroll effects. One example is the homepage of Movie People, a film equipment rental company, where we created a smooth, immersive visual experience that unfolds across the entire page.

A website that’s always easy to update

Thanks to a simplified backend and a dedicated field editor, the website is easy to manage even for users without technical skills. Clients can independently update WordPress and plugins to the latest versions, as well as edit content, keeping the entire ecosystem consistently up to date.

Upon request, we can also set up scheduled automatic updates to ensure the platform remains aligned with the latest releases at all times. In any case, we recommend pairing this option with one of our support packages: our team can verify that everything remains compatible, especially between plugins and theme files. The themes we develop are designed not to depend on updates and generally do not cause issues, but dedicated technical checks minimize the risk of unexpected problems.

Dedicated support

After the website goes live, we offer support packages of 40 or 100 hours, which can be used for design adjustments or additional implementations. Every request is tracked in a shared spreadsheet, always updated with the hours used.

The allocated hours can be used within one year of purchase and, with explicit client approval, can be renewed for the following year. This ensures maximum transparency and continuity, giving clients the freedom to plan interventions over time according to their needs.

Performance and hosting

Our websites are built with clean, optimized code, avoiding unnecessary libraries. This approach ensures high performance, further enhanced by caching systems selected and refined over more than 14 years of experience.

Everything is supported by a fast and competitive hosting service that guarantees stability and quick loading times.

SEO: visibility and results

True SEO optimization starts with the fundamentals: a high‑performance server and clean code.

On top of these foundations, we implement additional technical and structural enhancements, including:

  • Proper heading tag structure;
  • An optimized sitemap free of unnecessary pages;
  • Correctly sized images with automatically generated thumbnails;
  • Code debugging and removal of console errors;
  • Minification of HTML, CSS, and JS;
  • Advanced caching (page, opcode, database, object, browser);
  • Image lazy loading;
  • Optimization of the Largest Contentful Paint (LCP), a key Core Web Vitals metric.

Finally we work on strategic keywords: we analyze the industry and competitors, identify the most effective keywords, and manually configure meta titles and meta descriptions for the main pages, while also setting up optimal automation for future posts.

Conclusion

Our approach to WordPress combines custom design, advanced technical development, high performance, and strategic SEO. Every project becomes a scalable, secure, and easily manageable digital ecosystem, designed to support the client over time and grow alongside their business.
